Let's not call this a New Year's resolution, but...  
Yeah, it kind of is.

For the past year (or three) I haven't used my DW or my LJ much. I've spent a bit of time on Tumblr, but truth be told, I don't have the patience for the barely there communication (it's full of pretty pictures, but that's about it for me - apart from the gazillion ideas it's occasionally given me - that will never see the light of day LOL).

So for the year to come, I'll be attempting to breathe some life back into this - both reading as well as writing here (both LJ and DW as I'll be crossposting). I'll put fic announcements up as well - because I've got more than a few coming up and quite another number planned.

  • Entry for the [profile] xmenreversebang - which I still need a secondary beta for

  • A fic done to a piece of artwork (x-men) that has had me re-writing world war 2 - as in extending it into the 1950s

  • A planned follow up to the Jade Coin (if I can fit it into getting written this year)

  • A full fledged Warehouse 13 fusion which cropped up during my fic-a-week project this past year (x-men/W13 fusion)

  • A Victorian setting (also spawned from the fic-a-week project) which probably will end up being steampunk (x-men)

  • a few other story ideas that I might get around to doing.

  • Finishing editing the original story I started on in the 00s - which I've decided might finally get to see the light of day

So, here's to hoping I'll see new and old faces around here again - I've missed the conversations and interaction with everyone here.

Oh goodness, it's snowing cookies XD  
Guys, there's a whole flurry of snowflake cookies going around XD

They've gotten me through a bit of writing tonight, though it's nowhere near the end. It's an AU, it's Merlin/Arthur and pure crack *nods sagely*

So, thanks to [personal profile] oxoniensis, [personal profile] sol_se, [personal profile] carlachameleon, [personal profile] reedfem, [profile] windeetree, [profile] pinkelephanti, [profile] callingmethere, [personal profile] enigel and [profile] monkeyfun1 and not to mention, someone gave me 6 months of paid LJ too O.o

You guys are slightly nuts, but I do love you all. *sighs* - I can't trust my respiration a the moment, as I've got a wee cold, but my hands are itching and they only do that after I've come home from work when I've been petting her. Argh bugger - I'll give it a few more days and see if it's that.</i>

I promised, didn't I?  
A while back to post stuff that wasn't fandom related but me-related? Yeah, I did *g*

Right, so last time was a bit heavy about religion -- not yours or your neighbour's but mine. This time, completely different:

Recipe time! I'm cooking soup and sharing the recipe.

Mind you, some of the measurements are probably odd to you, because I'm a Dane and hence, we don't necessarily use the same measurements.

Red pepper soup

This will be a good, big potful, just to warn you.


  • 2-3 red peppers depending on size -- you can use snack pepper, just keep in mind they don't have as strong a taste.

  • 1 medium to large size onion

  • a handful of sliced meat if you want to -- it can be a vegie soup as well -- i tend to use chicken or turkey

  • 2 cans of chopped tomatoes

  • various spices, paprica, cayenne pepper or similar, salt

  • 1 litre of bouillon/broth -- chicken, beef, vegie your choice (US 4 cups, IMP 1 3/4 pint)

  • 1 tablespoon Sweet chili sauce

  • 1-2 handfuls of pasta

  • 7 oz/200g cream cheese, NOT the light version

How to:

Cut unions and pepper and fry in the pot -- add meat. Let it fry for a few minutes, while stirring it.

Add the cans of tomato, stir and leave to cook at a lower heat for five to ten minutes. Keep an eye on it and stir every once in a while.

Add the bouillon/broth -- use at least 1 litre as I wrote above, but don't be a afraid to add a bit more water -- it'll be a fairly thick soup.

Add spices and salt -- though keep in mind to not use too much salt -- you'll need to check the taste once you have the cream cheese in anyway.

Leave it to cook for half an hour to an hour -- it's like chili con carne -- the more it cooks the better.

Dump in the pasta -- use smaller stuff, soup noodles and the like -- once they've cooked in the soup for a while they'll be nice and thick -- soaked in the soup.

Add the cream cheese -- all of it. Stir until the soup is creamy. Now add appx a table spoon or two of sweet chili sauce -- don't forget to do the taste check -- it can get really spicy XD -- also of course depends on how you prefer it. Add more salt if needed and there ya go, enjoy -- also? You can freeze this stuff and just reheat in the microwave or on the cooker.
